About me
I am a portrait and fine art photographer based in Mexico City, focused on making images with presence.
My work combines direction, technique and spontaneity. Each image begins with careful attention to framing, light, proportion and the balance between forms. Rooted in the tradition of classical aesthetics, I look for a sober and precise visual harmony.
But that preparation is not meant to imprison the image. The opposite: it creates the conditions for something true to appear. In a portrait, the scene may be carefully directed, but I leave space for the person to move with naturalness. A conversation, a gesture, a glance or an unexpected expression can be the key that opens the door to what Henri Cartier-Bresson called the "decisive moment", and the image appears.
Portraiture sits at the center of this gaze. I am drawn to faces, to human nature, to direct looks and to the strength of a simple expression. A clear and honest composition is enough for a photograph to reveal the depth of the soul.
There is also a symbolic and narrative dimension. Some images incorporate objects and magical symbols tied to collective memory. They are not decoration; they are presences that transform the scene and bind the portrait to tradition and myth.
The final intention is to build images with authentic beauty: portraits with presence, scenes with atmosphere, and photographs where the person, the symbol and the light remain eternal as memories.
